Hand crafted necklace and earring set made of Czech glass seed beads and Red Jasper gemstone. The glass seed beads are 2mm and are ivory tone. The Red Jasper is Rondelle shaped.

• Czech glass seed beads

• Bronze Toggle clasp
  
• Gold plated earwire
  

 

Necklace:

This is my personal design, centering the Red Jasper. This is difficult to string because the ivory tone beads need to be even on each side, and the red jasper is using two patterns. The earrings are also my personal design. I used tiny seed pearls to tapper toward the red jasper.

 

Care and cleaning:

Hand wash necklace using household dish soap and water. Lay flat to dry overnight. I do not recommend chemical cleaning because it may discolor the beads. Use a soft cotton cloth to enhance the sparkle.

 

About Bead Crochet:

Seed bead crochet is labor intensive, dating back to the early 1820’s. Each tiny bead is touched 3 times to build the spiral rope.

First touch: All beads are strung onto the cord in a predetermined pattern.

Second touch: Crochet the first row of beads, adding one bead with each stitch and determines the diameter of the rope.

Third touch: The subsequent rows are crocheted into each stitch of the previous row adding one new bead while flipping the previous bead to the side.
