Hand crafted necklace and earrings made of the Garnet gemstones, Hickoryite stonependant and a Sterling Silver clasp.

Materials:

• Hickoryite pendant
  
• Plated faux hematite rounds
  
• Sterling Silver handmade clasp
  

 

Necklace:

This handmade necklace is designed to center dual hold pendant and enhance the colors using the garnet. There are two shapes of garnet, 2mm round and 5mm tube. The plated hematite pulls the soft gray in the Hickoryite. Turkish crochet was used on the bottom portion of the necklace. The clasp is acustom design crafted of sterling silver with garnet tassels.

Special Note:

The structural design of this necklace pattern is by Carmen’s Beads and Bling (beadsbycarmen@gmail.com) and the dual drilled Hickoryite stone is from DiWolf fine stone emporium (http://www.diwolf.com/)

Earrings: These earrings enhance the necklace by using the plated hematite and Garnet tube shaped gemstones.  The ear wires are lever back sterling silver.

 

Care and cleaning:

Hand wash necklace and earrings using household dish soap and water. Lay flat to dry overnight. You can use standard jeweler’s polishing cloth on the earring posts. I do not recommend chemical cleaning because it may discolor the gem stones. You can use standard jeweler’s polishing cloth on the sterling silver. 

AboutBead Crochet:

Seed bead crochet is labor intensive, dating back to the early 1820’s.Each tiny bead is touched 3 times to build the spiral rope.

First touch: All beads are strung onto the cord in a predetermined pattern.

Second touch: Crochet the first row of beads, adding one bead with each stitch and determines the diameter of the rope.

Third touch: The subsequent rows are crocheted into each stitch of the previous row adding one new bead while flipping the previous bead to the side.
