***SOLD***Hand crafted necklace made of glass seed beads, a Mabe Pearl and Bronze findings. The centerpiece is removable. The necklace is crochet with a blend of bronze lined matte seed beads and bronze hex glass seed beads.    I embellished the Mabe pearl (also known as Blister pearl) with bronze lined delica beads and tiny rose glass bead with tinier bronze seed beads.

Materials:

• Bronze lined glass seed beads
  
• Mabe pearl pendant (38mm x 36mm)
  
• Bronze bead caps
  
• Bronze toggle clasp
  

 

Necklace: I designed this necklace to enhance the Mabe pearl. The seed beads are glass and the soft gold thread is thermally fused and made in the USA. The pattern used causes a twisting effect in the crochet.   

 

Care and cleaning:

Hand wash necklace using household dish soap and water. Lay flat to dry overnight.

DO NOT wash the pendant, just use a soft cloth. I do not recommend chemical cleaning because it may discolor the glass beads and destroy the pearl.

 

About Bead Crochet:

Seed bead crochet is labor intensive, dating back to the early 1820’s.  Each tiny bead is touched 3 times to build the spiral rope.

First touch: All beads are strung onto the cord in a predetermined pattern.

Second touch: Crochet the first row of beads, adding one bead with each stitch and determines the diameter of the rope.

Third touch: The subsequent rows are crocheted into each stitch of the previous row adding one new bead while flipping the previous bead to the side.
