Hand crafted necklace made of Czech seed beads, a Mabe Pearl and Swarovski hand cut glass. The centerpiece is removable.  I embellished the Mabe pearl (also known as Blister pearl) with a blend of purple, silver lined, latte lined and clear beads.  The Swarovski cones act as end caps.

Materials:

• Czech glass seed beads
  
• Mabe pearl pendant (40mm x 32mm)
  
• Swarovski bead caps
  
• Silver magnetic clasp
  

 

Necklace: I designed this necklace to enhance the Mabe pearl. The seed beads are glass and the soft white thread is thermally fused and made in the USA. There is no pattern used, just the varying color of the seed beads randomly strung.  

 

Care and cleaning:

Hand wash necklace using household dish soap and water. Lay flat to dry overnight.

DO NOT wash the pendant, just use a soft cloth. I do not recommend chemical cleaning because it may discolor the glass beads and destroy the pearl.

 

About Bead Crochet:

Seed bead crochet is labor intensive, dating back to the early 1820’s.  Each tiny bead is touched 3 times to build the spiral rope.

First touch: All beads are strung onto the cord in a predetermined pattern.

Second touch: Crochet the first row of beads, adding one bead with each stitch and determines the diameter of the rope.

Third touch: The subsequent rows are crocheted into each stitch of the previous row adding one new bead while flipping the previous bead to the side.
